LCD Fridge Thermometer
Used to frustrate me not knowing how efficient or indeed if the fridge was getting cold so fitted this
Had to use a 12v - 5v step down transformer to power this.
Fits easily into the top panel of my fridge and is independently switched, the probe wire i have positioned behind the hinge side of the door out of site.
Will add better pictures, all parts can be bought off the bay

Liking that, i take it you have to cut a hole in the panel to take the display and have you any links to the one you bought and the step down transformer?

Step down transformer is something like this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/sis.html?_nkw=DC%2FDC+15W+Converter+12V+Step+down+to+5V+3A+Power+Supply+Module+Waterproof+-+UK&_id=271612041709&&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2658
And the display like this

Two years since i fitted mine and still working perfectly though only switched on when i am in there, i would look around as well i am fairly certain i got mine from UK sellers for a little more cost if overseas purchases is a problem.
Also you do have to cut a rectangular hole through the panel but nothing a drill and file won't sort.
